Parodia is a small place run by the people in it, not a company. It works because everyone here treats it like someone's living room rather than a platform to be optimised. These are the rules. They are short on purpose. Read them before you post.
The short version: be kind, be a real participant, don't make this anyone's job to clean up. If you would not do it in a friend's home, don't do it here.
01 · BE A GOOD GUEST
Treat people with basic decency. Disagreement is fine; contempt, pile-ons, and bad faith are not.
Assume the person on the other end is a human having a day. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
This is a community, not an audience. Talk with people, not at them.
If a mod or the admin asks you to ease off something, ease off first and discuss after.
02 · PSEUDONYMS & IDENTITY
Use a pseudonym. Do not use your real legal name as a username or display name anywhere on the network.
Don't post other people's private or identifying information, ever. No doxxing.
Don't impersonate other people or organisations, real or invented.
One account per person unless the admin has agreed otherwise.
03 · NO SELLING, NO SELF-PROMOTION
Parodia is not a growth channel and not a marketplace. It is explicitly not for people who came here to build an audience or move product.
No advertising, affiliate links, dropshipping, or "check out my thing" posting.
No spam, no coordinated posting, no engagement farming.
Sharing something you made because it's genuinely relevant to a conversation is fine. Using the community as a funnel is not.
04 · HARD LINES
These get you removed, usually without a conversation:
NOT HERE, NOT EVER
Anything illegal under applicable law, including sexual content involving minors.
Harassment, threats, or targeting of individuals.
Hate speech or dehumanising content aimed at people for who they are.
Attempts to probe, disrupt, or break the security of the service or its infrastructure.
Content that infringes someone else's rights and that you have no permission to share.
05 · FEDERATION ETIQUETTE
Your account can talk to Mastodon, Lemmy, and hundreds of other servers. That reach comes with manners.
Remember that public posts leave our server and can't be fully recalled. Post accordingly.
Respect the norms of communities you visit elsewhere — you're representing this place when you do.
Use content warnings the way the wider fediverse does, for the things people commonly want behind a click.
06 · CONTENT & TAGGING
Games, music, lego, hardware, the open web — that's the heart of the place, but you're a person, not a topic. Off-topic chatter among members is welcome.
Tag or content-warn NSFW, spoilers, and heavy subjects so people can opt in.
Keep uploads to things you have the right to share.
07 · MODERATION & ENFORCEMENT
Moderation here is human and unapologetically discretionary. There is no committee and no appeals bureaucracy — just a person trying to keep a good room good.
Depending on severity, a rule break may mean a quiet word, a removed post, a temporary mute, or removal from the community.
Membership is a privilege extended by invitation and can be revoked, as set out in the Terms of Service.
Rules can change as the community grows; material changes are announced in the Matrix space.
08 · REPORTING
See something that breaks these rules, or that just feels wrong? Tell the admin. Reports are handled discreetly.
